PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – This painting tutorial will take you through easy step-by-step instructions on how to paint this adorable holiday seasonal animal portrait of "CARDINAL AND SNOWMAN" with acrylic paint. The spirit of Christmas is a time of celebrating and giving, not just the exchanging of gifts, but, rather, the coming together with others, friends and family, and sharing laughs and spreading joy, and it’s the time of forgiveness and selflessness of putting other’s needs before yours. Although the holiday season is filled with love and happiness, it can also be a very tough time emotionally for many who are reminded of a loss a loved one. Christmas music, feel-good movies, seeing other families together, can all be reminders of those who have passed on and we wish they could be right here with us at this moment. Symbolizing the spiritual messenger from God, the red cardinal is representative of a departed loved who is attempting to make contact with you. A visitor from the other side, the red cardinal usually shows up when you most need them or miss them the most. Whether it’s during a moment of celebration or despair, they are here to let you know that they will always be with you. In a special time of year and in memory of a special person in your heart, join me and learn to paint this sentimental and endearing image of a red cardinal who, on his way to see someone special, takes a quick break and perches himself on the carrot nose of a snowman—one of the most iconic images of winter and Christmas. The first lesson you’ll learn in this beginner level painting tutorial is how to use simple painting techniques for blending the background for added depth and atmospheric dimension, using natural and heavenly colors to create a wintery, yet, cozy, feel to your canvas, the perfect environment for your sweet and charming bird to rest for a moment. Then, after using chalk to draw the outline for your Frosty the Snowman and red bird, you’ll learn how to mix paint and create the ideal tones for your subjects. The next art tip you’ll learn in this canvas painting lesson is how to paint snow for your snow person using a dotting or stippling technique, making it look so realistic that you could almost reach out and touch the face and feel the cold. After easily painting facial features on your snowman, you’ll add form to the hat and carrot nose by simply blending and layering colors to give them a round 3d realistic look like a photograph. You could easily change the top hat into a cowboy, baseball, bowler, bucket, cloche, Fireman, or a scarf. Then, after painting facial features on your friendly fowl, you’ll layer colors to give form and textures to your bird’s feathers, wings and tail. You’ll easily create realistic looking dimension with properly placed highlights and shadows on the bird’s body to accentuate contour and form. You’ll finish off by painting falling snow and snowflakes to this cute inspirational image with a fairytale storybook narrative. Using only 3 brushes and 7 colors we'll create this charming conversational masterpiece that is sure to bring warm sentiment to everyone. Not just an enchanting painting, but an easy painting for beginners. So, let's get painting and let's get sipping!
