This exciting image is full of motion and can be seen as a symbol of love, romance and fertility with its many exterior seeds being shown in abundance. Surrounded by the glistening reflections in the water, the plump fruit and green leaves shine and shimmer as they descend into the water. You'll learn how to draw the delectable garden produce and leaves at an angle showing the motion of it being dropped with proper proportions allowing it to have a believable shape. You'll learn to create dimension in the form of the fruit with a simple layering and blending technique to create contour highlights and shadows that will define the small details, which will give the image a realistic 3d quality like a photograph. You'll also learn how to create a dramatic splash of water using translucent, or transparent, colors with a progressive approach creating a kaleidoscope of natural illuminated hues with soft gradient and reflective colors creating texture and dimension. MATERIALS:
Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 inch flat bristle (large), #11 round synthetic (medium), #1 round synthetic (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, green oxide, fire red, chrome yellow, ultramarine blue
Other: white chalk, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint background with black
2. chalk - Draw outline of strawberry
3. #11 round brush - Paint leaves and base coat of strawberry with red, black, green, yellow and white
4. #11 round brush – Paint highlights and shadows on strawberry with black, red and white
5. #1 round brush – Paint strawberry seeds with black, red and white
6. #11 round brush – Paint base coat for liquid with black, blue and white
7. #11 round brush - Finish liquid with white, red, green, yellow, black and gray (made in step 6)
8. #1 round brush - Sign with red
