MODELS & DESIGN MERIT - ROYAL RANGERS | Blue Merit (Discovery Rangers)

This video goes over the Models & Design Merit, a blue merit for Discovery Rangers of Royal Rangers.

Note: You cannot use the same model or Pinewood car used to complete a requirement of the Hobby Merit
10:54 - REQUIREMENT 6: As you build your model, keep notes on the following things and then demonstrate them.
a. Proper planning method
b. Appropriate choice of materials
c. Proper and safe use of tools
d. Appropriate choice and proper use of adhesives, paints, and finishes
e. Proper cleanup and storage of all materials and tools

a. Create a method for displaying your model.
b. Run the Pinewood Derby car in a race

I'm currently (as of the making and uploading of this video) in my 20th year in Royal Rangers and my 7th year back as a commander. I've taught Compass, Astronomy, First Aid Skills, Rope Craft (Tying Knots), Weather, etc. Royal Rangers is a faith-based mentoring organization that is tantamount to the Boy Scouts of America. We go on campouts, learn survival skills, and learn about God, His creation, and his Word.

I cannot express enough how proud, blessed, and thankful I am for Royal Rangers; without Royal Rangers, I literally don't know where in the world I'd be right now! All my life, I have been a part of Outpost #33 of the Orange Section, of the Shoreline Division, of the Southern California (SoCal) District, and the Southwest Region.

My biggest accomplishment in life is not just earning the Gold Medal Of Achievement (Eagle Scout equivalent), but that I immediately returned a half week later & became a commander - to help mentor & train boys (K-12) at the ages that I once was - leadership, earning merits, discipleship, etc.

I am the royalty-published author of the award-winning book, “Juggling the Issues: Living with Asperger’s Syndrome,” about a firsthand perspective on living with Asperger’s Syndrome. Royal Rangers is HEAVILY mentioned all throughout the book, for I literally don't know where in the world I'd be today without it.
