This spiral 3D printed chess rook is one of my older videos before I switched over to my bullseye duct and Micro Swiss Direct Drive, but it still looks so cool I had to share it. This is yet another cool spiral chess piece from the set by BigBadBison on Thingiverse. There is just something surreal about the way a spiral 3D print comes alive in a time lapse. In fact, several of my upcoming videos will feature spirals and other shifting shapes that can be printed in vase mode(spiralize outer contour) Stay tuned for those prints!

How Time Lapse 3D Prints Work
After each .2 MM layer( That is barely thicker than a sheet of paper!) the 3D printer pauses, moves the extruder to the rear of the printer, takes a photo and then continues the print giving the illusion of the print appearing from thin air.
