October 2020 brings some news in the field of point clouds, 3D scanners and point cloud software. But we also have topics in the area of classification of geodata or point clouds and VR applications.


Hardware:
Highlight is the Zeiss T-SCAN Hawk. The first precision handheld scanner of the metrology manufacturer. A competitor to the Creaform handheld scanners.

The American manufacturer Ouster releases its solid state scanner development. The Ouster ES2 will be available from 2024, costing only 600 dollars and will be used for autonomous driving, robotics and industrial applications. 100 000 hours of operation durability are planned.
