Hi everyone, and first thank you for watching.
This Is a really exciting product to me, and I am very thankful to be one of the makers that have been sent one to look at over give it a run through and give my opinion.
First I must say I'm rather impressed with this little machine. Is it going to stand up again a big printer? Maybe in some cases, but not all.
This printer clearly had a child in mind. Even in the manual they stated for a child under six supervision must be given.
They put a lot of thought into the safety features. And what it could and could not do. It took me a few moments to realise it does not have a heated bed for example, This is one less heat source that a child can burn their hands on especially when they get so excited seeing that first model that they have to get their hands on it.
I am definitely going to be testing some of the safety features in child mode before moving on to what else you can get away with.
Speed wise, It is fast. even with extremely small layer heights it can produce a detailed model in a shorter time that a larger printer would take several hours. This printer definitely takes advantage of high speed filament to the extreme. At the moment the dedicated app it's not yet in the play store but it is available in the app store from the looks.
I suspect this will change as it gets closer to its retail release. But the app was downloadable directly from a link provided by the printer as well as the manual.
I will say it now there will be further videos as I dive further into it. But the fact that my wife could set this printer up with only minimal help that on a few points even I struggled minorly for assembly probably do to my poor eyesight. It went together very easily and went from unbox to printing in a minimal time.
I have also had her include her perspective at the end of the video as to what she would view it as regarding the view of a parent and mother.
As for me I think this is the perfect starting point to inspire a child to see what 3D printing can do and then see if they are excited enough by it to want to learn more and maybe someday move up to a bigger printer.
This printer could also be for adults, maybe to offset some of the printing they do for their children that are simple little objects that keep them happy. And may have other tasks for their big printers.
I have already been advised that I am not to take this printer away from my wife. She absolutely loves it.
As of the moment this printer is on Kickstarter. But they already have a website and link at the top stating that there is a 46% off for Kickstarter supporters from the looks of it. If you want more information about this printer feel free to leave me a comment, and I will try and answer it as quickly as I can.
