The Art + Technology Lab at LACMA provides financial and in-kind support to artist experiments that engage emerging technology. It creates ways for artists to pursue new directions in their practices and to develop projects that wouldn’t be done otherwise. To date, 39 artists from around the world, including Czech Republic, Ghana, Korea, Mexico, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom have received awards through the Art + Technology Lab.

This informational session will provide an overview of the Art + Technology Lab program, its current open call for proposals, and will discuss a few of its past and current projects. The event will feature a short presentation by 2020 grant recipient Virginia San Fratello, and will conclude with a question and answer period.

About the Art + Technology Lab
Inspired by the spirit of LACMA's original Art and Technology program (1967–71), which paired artists with technology companies in Southern California, the Art + Technology Lab at LACMA supports artist experiments with emerging technology. Through our sponsors, the Lab provides grants, in-kind support, and facilities at the museum to develop new artist projects.
