To celebrate Star Wars day I 3D printed this giant Lego inspired Luke Skywalker. His lightsaber lights up, makes noise and his arm moves.

Just over two weeks ago I decided to to build something to put out in my community on the 4th of May to celebrate Star Wars day. I optimistically Thought I could build a giant working Luke Skywalker. What followed was a rather busy and stressful two weeks. Towards the end things got a little rushed and I ran out of time.

The electronics are based around a Teensy 3.2 with a prop shield. It controls around 90 90 WS2812B LEDs that light up the blade, a speaker and the servo that moves the arms.

For the body I modified and scaled up Michael Curry's model:

I put him out on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi for around 3 hours. Fortunately he didn't get broken or stolen.

I won't be sharing my modified models at this point.
