Bondtech LGX extruder guide & test for Prusa MK3 and Artillery3D X1

After introducing dual drive gears for greater filament grip in the BMG, Bondtech has its next major development with the LGX. This is a dual Large Gear eXtruder, and brings some new innovations to 3D printing. This is a premium product with a premium price, so to find out how good it is, I fit and test upgrade kits for the Prusa i3 MK3 and Artillery3D Sidewinder X1. Of course I’ve endeavoured to provide a guide so you know what to expect.

These kits were sent to me free of charge by Bondtech for the purpose of making this video. All opinions expressed are my own.

Some other thoughts:
- Particularly for the MK3, it is a LOT easier to partially disassemble for maintenance or clearing clogs.
- You could opt to also get the high temp heater cartridge and thermistor to print really high temperature filaments.
- The design, engineering and manufacture in my opinion is top notch.
- Part cooling could be improved by adding a second fan and/or a custom duct.
- The piano music on repeat in the instructional videos started to drive me crazy.
