I enlarged the drive gear pointer, added a slide arm with slot, and modified the switch axle to add a pin for the slide arm slot. The pointer is now used to manipulate the slide arm which shifts the mechanism from forward to reverse.

This demonstration is not necessarily how I would implement this mechanism, it is solely for the purpose of demonstrating a one method of creating a mechanical self reversing mechanism.

Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced using Ultimaker Cura 4.8.0, and 3D printed in Tough PLA on an Ultimaker 3 Extended and PLA on Ultimaker S5s.
